Developing modern and extensive CAN networks is no longer possible without the proper tools. Vector Informatik has introduced an effective tool called CANoe, which assists designers woith development. CANoe enables design, simulation and analysis of CAN networks from the beginning.
CANoe functions:
CANoe basic functions offer several different possibilities, such as:
- Communication design / modelling
- Communication validation
- Simulation and testing of nodes
- Diagnostics
- Distributed development / integration
- Bus load and bus disturbance statistics
- Logging of messages for playback or offline evaluation
- Generation of bus disturbances
- Easy-to-use and intuitive user concept
- Programmable with CAPL
Options and Protocols
The following available options and protocols for CANoe can be combined according to specific needs: LIN, MOST, FlexRay, TTCan, CANopen, J1939, NMEA 2000 and ISO11783.
CANdb++:
CANoe also supports a project database called CANdb++. In the database messages in a specific project can be associated with their own names, calculations on the data, physical values etc. The database is created and maintained with a tool called CANdb++ data management program, which is included in the basic CANalyzer package. The database enables the messages and the data they contain to be presented on the application level, e.g. CarSpeed = 210 km/h. Messages and the data they contain can also be parameterized on the application level.
Node models and panels
Node models can be linked to the Simulation Setup as a CAPL-program. These programs can be created manually or automatically from a database by using a CAPL generator. The Paneleditor and Panelgenerator enable development of user specific control- and displaypanels
